Rejected ANM, CMA and Lab Assistant

The National Medical Education Commission has scrapped technical programs on health issues under the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). A meeting of the commission held on July 12 rejected the programs like technical SLC, informed Vice-Chairman Prof. Dr. Krishna Giri.

According to Article 42 of the Medical Education Act, it has been decided to close all the programs below the certificate level from this academic session. He said that the repealed provision was in the act and they were trying to implement the provision.

Earlier, the number of students was low and should not have been dismissed, but now due to the increase in the number of students, it has been decided to close the program like technical SLC, said Giri. According to him, the PCL Nursing, which is now being conducted by Tribhuvan University, will not be open for admission from this year.

Following this decision, the affiliation of 137 colleges teaching 238 subjects including ANMI, CMA, Lab Assistant has also been canceled.
